The 2019 Asia-Pacific Forum for Science Talented (2019 APFST) was organized at National Taiwan Normal University, Taiwan on 6-11 July with its theme “Nurturing Leadership for Future Scientists”. This year, more than 100 gifted students and 45 scholars from 16 countries/regions joined this special forum which provided opportunities for science talented students to develop their character, integrity, leadership, as well as skills of collaboration, problem-solving and innovation through cultural activities and the hands-on project. The 2019 APFST also had the Teacher Forum for scholars, educators and teachers form 16 regions to share their strategy and experience in infusing leadership development into students’ science learning through curriculum design, daily classroom teaching & learning, and the whole school education system. Dr. Lai Kwan CHAN, founder and permeant director of the GIFTS Charity Foundation, was invited to lead a group of Hong Kong gifted students to participate in the Forum. She was also be invited to serve as a referee of the Forum to share her experience with teacher participants, and to provide support & advice for the students, to judge students’ work and give comments on their hands-on projects.
