The Biennial Parent Conference 2020 was held by the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education on 18 January 2020 for local educators, professionals, parents and members of the general public. As an invited keynote speaker for the Biennial Parent Conference on the theme “Talent Development and Learning Motivation”, Dr. Lai Kwan CHAN, Founder of the GIFTS Charity Foundation, made the presentation on the topic “Multiple intelligences, Psychological Well-being and Learning Motivation of Gifted & Talented Students (資優及具天賦學生的多元智能、心理健康及學習動機)” . In her presentation, Dr. CHAN highlighted the importance of unleashing gifted and talented children’s potential and enhancing their psychological well-being in order to strengthen learning motivation. She also opined that children’s interest, autonomy and self-efficacy, as well as the mindset of parents and teachers on gifted education are all countable factors that help gifted and talented children develop their giftedness and talents to reach the level of self-actualization.
