Dr. Lai Kwan CHAN (Founder of the Foundation) was invited by the University of Hong Kong (HKU) to deliver a talk on the topic “Implementing Gifted Education Programmes in Hong Kong Schools: The Challenges and Strategies that Work” for HKU MEd students specialized in gifted education and members of Asia-Pacific Federation on Giftedness on 23 September 2020. During the sharing, Dr. CHAN emphasized that gifted education is not only for “educating the gifted” but also as “talent development for all students”. She reviewed the gifted education provisions in Hong Kong, stated the challenges and difficulties of implementing school-based gifted education in schools, and shared the strategies to overcome the difficulties and for successful implementation of school- based gifted education in Hong Kong.
